"Alienware's M17X gaming laptop with twin GTX 280M GPUs truly is all powerful

The announcement wasn't scheduled for a few more days -- four according to the
teaser site -- but it looks like Alienware's All Powerful gaming laptop has been set free anyway. So, does it live up to the clues? Pretty much... how does a pair of 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280M GPUs strike you? No Core i7 listed, instead we're looking at a Core 2 Extreme quad-core CPU at the top end with up to 8GB of 1333MHz DDR3 memory, and 1TB of 7200-rpm disk or a 512GB SSD if you prefer. RAID 1 or RAID 0? Sure. Rounding things out is a nine-cell battery of unstated performance, FireWire, 4x USB, eSATA, ExpressCard, 802.11n WiFi, 8-in-1 media card reader, dual-layer Blu-ray, a 1920 x 1200 pixel edge-to-edge LCD, DisplayPort and HDMI-outs all wrapped up in a massive chassis weighing 11.68-pounds with a 15.98 x 12.65 x 2.11-inch footprint. It's also packing a GeForce 9400M G1 GPU with HybridPower technology that allows you to scale the graphics back to conserve battery power. Prices start at $1,799 for a lot less than we mentioned above.

As a footnote to the details above,
PCWorld also says that Alienware will use next week's E3 show to update us on its 42.8-inch curved monitor we went hands-on with back in January of 2008

[Thanks, Steve]"

RoM Update: 5/29/09

Posted by Logansaurus on Friday, May 29, 2009

I played RoM a little more tonight, I explored a tiny bit and did a couple of quests.

So far, I've only had time to create two different characters.--A knight and a mage.
The knight is a basic hack and slash character, while the mage is a crazy powerful ranged DPS. I definitely prefer the mage. Combat with a mage is alot quicker than with a knight. Mages are pwnage. The Quest interface is pretty much identical to WoW.
-Just a quick update, been pretty busy today. Last day of school tho! Woo

Revival Update: 5/28/09

Posted by Logansaurus on Thursday, May 28, 2009

The revival process is coming along, slowly. I'm currently trying to fix some Adobe Flex errors and start working on a new sidebar (re-installing atm). We will soon begin getting "back" into the demanding process of writing reviews and playing video games. :P If you're interested in becoming a write, please shoot me an email at: logansaurus at switched dot com

Runes of Magic (Pre-Review)

Posted by Logansaurus on Wednesday, May 27, 2009

Game Title: Runes of Magic
Release Date: March 19, 2009
Developer: Runewaker Entertainment
Distributed by: Frogster Interactive
Website: Runes Of Magic.com

               Knight          Scout         Warrior
                     Rogue    Priest          Mage

Runes of Magic may appear to be nothing more than another poorly made foreign MMOs, but if you look a bit deeper, there may be something special hiding underneath.

Runes of Magic is a Free game. This may turn some gamers off, but you may want to take a glance at this game. The old saying "You pay for what you get" may not apply to this title.

Gameplay:

The gameplay in Runes of Magic, IMO, seems to be very much like, the extremely popular MMORPG, World of Warcraft. One may argue this, but to me, you cannot deny the slight resemblances. I enjoyed WoW for quite some time, so taking some hints from success can't be a bad idea. In all honesty it seems like an early version of World of Warcraft. The movement is very fluid, like that of WoW. Most FPSs all navigate about the same way, but in the MMO market, moving your character around can vary quite a bit from game to game. You might not be grasping I'm meaning, but lets just say that the seemingly basic action of moving your character around seems fairly well implemented into RoM.

Graphics:

As I stated earlier, it looks like a primitive WoW, with some GW and slight hints of other MMORPGs mixed in. (Does that make sense? Lol) The graphics aren't too pretty and take more hardware than WoW does to max all the settings. This may be changed over time, but with a release date 5 years later than WoW and still looking worse than it? This seems a little off to me. Of course, it's proven that graphics don't matter too much in the MMORPG market. RoM has a medieval-ish art style that I could easily get used to. Its bland and pretty basic, but the simplicity appeals to me in the same way WoWs did to me.

(Old Hardware Compatibility-- Does not work with older ATi Video cards, such as the Radeon 9250! --> http://forum.us.runesofmagic.com/showthread.php?t=56 "The ATI Readon 9000 series is currently unable to support RoM. That would be 9000,9200,9250,9600...not sure if there is more. Its rumored that someone with a 9600 was able to play but out of the 5 people i have helped who had that card..they couldn't play." :( Ha, not that any of us are still using an old Ati card or anything anyways.. lol

---Here's some screenies, check it out for yourself!

Note: Most of these screenshots are of the game with all settings on the lowest quality option. At higher resolutions, and higher quality settings, the game looks much better.

"Xbox 360 Holiday Bundle prices slashed with Dell coupon magic

Xbox 360 consoles are already dirt cheap in the US. Now Microsoft has utterly soiled itself through a series of Dell coupons dropping the prices of the Xbox 360 Arcade, Pro, and Elite Holiday Bundles by $30 (now $169), $50 (now $250), and $70 (now $330), respectively, just in time for the holidays. Better yet, we're talking free shipping and either one or two free game tossed in for grins. Hurry now, the offers expire on Monday Thursday, October 23rd and it's not like you can afford to take the family to grandma's house this year anyway.

The Xbox 360 also now comes with 65nm technology, which basically means that it runs cooler and uses less power. ;)

Yeah, So this is a video of the new Barber Shop that was introduced in the recent 3.0.2 Patch.. Check it out! ^^

Note: Barber Shops are located in most large capital cities.

-Videos Removed-

So, I posted the last two videos on Youtube.. I got alot of views lol, but I'm debating on whether to continue posting there or not.. I did get a couple suggestions though. I need to always put music in the videos! xD I guess that's a good idea, but I'm always seeing people say how much a certain person's music sucks and ruins the video... So I choose to not put in any music, and let the viewer listen to their own music.. idk I'll think about it, and ask some friends. I'll keep y'all updated as to what's going on and etc.
